Snooze a vulnerability

Use this article when a vulnerability is valid, but the team needs more time for remediation, an upstream fix, or a planned review window.

Availability depends on your Cysmiq plan.

What a snooze does

• Temporarily pauses follow-up for a fixed duration.
• Keeps the vulnerability visible in Cysmiq.
• Records who requested the snooze, the requested duration, and whether approval was required.
• Snoozes related open or pending-review policy violations for the same vulnerability during the same window.

Before you request a snooze

• Confirm the vulnerability is still valid.
• Choose the shortest duration that matches the remediation plan.
• Add a reason that explains why the pause is needed.
• Check whether your workspace requires approval for vulnerability snoozes.

What approvers can do

• Approve: apply the requested snooze and increment the snooze count.
• Reject: keep the vulnerability active.
• Clear snooze: end an active snooze early.

Contact support if

• The Snooze action is missing unexpectedly.
• A snooze request is stuck pending or cannot be approved, rejected, cancelled, or cleared.
• A vulnerability or related policy violation does not reflect the expected snooze state.
